Aberdeen secured a place in the fifth-round draw with a victory on Friday night.
Aberdeen secured a spot in the Scottish Cup fifth round draw by defeating League Two strugglers Clyde. In the first of the weekend’s fourth-round ties, Aberdeen emerged victorious with a 2-0 win in Hamilton on Friday night. Bojan Miovski and Nicky Devlin were the goal scorers as they comfortably surpassed Ian McCall’s team.
Aberdeen took control of the game early, with Devlin and Polvara having close opportunities in the first half. However, Clyde, a fourth-tier side, also had their chances, and forward Conor Young hit the post after a swift counter-attack.
Miovski broke the deadlock for Aberdeen with a well-timed half-volley around the half-hour mark, following excellent work from Jamie McGrath on the left-hand side.
The Republic of Ireland international, Jamie McGrath, played a crucial role in Aberdeen’s first goal by delivering the ball into the box. Nicky Devlin chested it down for Bojan Miovski, who skillfully fired it past Clyde goalkeeper Jack Leighfield, giving Aberdeen a 1-0 lead.
Aberdeen extended their advantage just before the hour mark when Nicky Devlin, assisted by Polvara, unleashed a low and powerful shot into the net, making it 2-0.
