The New York Jets added several former Green Bay Packers players to their roster during the summer, in addition to Aaron Rodgers.
The Jets added wide receivers Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb, offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett, and backup quarterback Tim Boyle in addition to Rodgers.
Now, even though Rodgers was the only member of this bunch to sustain an injury that ended the season, they were all equally worthless. Boyle was fired in the middle of the season, Lazard and Cobb had minimal offensive contributions, and the Jets’ primary concern about frustrating their 40-year-old quarterback is the sole reason Hackett is still on the team.
Even worse, there have been rumors that the Jets may try to acquire another of Aaron Rodgers’ friends, 32-year-old offensive guard David Bakhtiari, in a trade. This suggests that they haven’t really learned from their blunders.
The Jets reportedly attempted to trade for Bakhtiari last year, and Alex Ballentine of Bleacher story stated that they may give him another look in the upcoming months, according to the shocking story that was recently released by The Athletic.
It is obvious that the Jets would be taking a risk by using draft money on Bakhtiari, who is 32 years old and recovering from a significant knee injury.
Then again, even though Rodgers hasn’t completed an official pass for the team yet, the team has demonstrated a definite readiness to offer him everything he wants to keep him happy.
