Declan Casey was helped off the field during Wests Tigers‘ 18-16 victory over the Warriors in Christchurch, but he has been cleared of any major injuries.
Midway through the first half of the Pre-season Challenge game, the 24-year-old center, who was playing in his first game with the Wests Tigers, was taken out by a high tackle from Warriors forward Zyon Maiu’u.
After being sent to the hospital right after, Casey had scans done, which revealed no significant injuries.
Declan has returned to the team hotel after watching the second half of the game from the hospital. On Monday morning, he and his teammates are scheduled to take a plane home.
Over the next few days, club medical professionals will keep an eye on him.

Playing in his debut game for the team, Solomona Faataape needed stitches above his left eye after taking a head knock, and Josh Feledy, another center, sustained a minor shoulder injury.
