Pablo Sandoval is making an unexpected comeback despite not having participated in an MLB game in three years and not being a very productive player in almost a decade.

According to Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area, Sandoval will be a non-roster invitee to the San Francisco Giants’ training camp. It is said that Sandoval’s attempt at a comeback is sincere and not just a farewell from the club he most closely identifies with.

During his career, Sandoval faced criticism for his weight. However, it is reported that he has since lost weight and told pals that he feels fantastic physically. The 37-year-old hasn’t stopped playing in Mexico or Dubai since making his final MLB appearance with the Atlanta Braves in 2021. He has also continued to go viral there.

In2019, Sandoval’s second season with the Giants and his final MLB season with at least 100 plate appearances, he hit 14 home runs.

Although he has a very slim chance of making the squad out of spring camp, he will still have the chance.
