NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport announced that the San Francisco 49ers have secured former Cleveland Browns defensive tackle Jordan Elliott, agreeing to a two-year contract valued at $10 million.

Standing at 6 feet 4 inches and weighing 303 pounds, Elliott is expected to fill the role of a run-stuffing option, possibly replacing Arik Armstead. Throughout the 2022 season, he started in all 17 games and maintained 14 starts in the most recent season for the Browns. His performance included four tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, and a total of 22 tackles.

Originally drafted in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft from Missouri, Elliott primarily operated as a right defensive tackle during his tenure with the Browns, logging 423 out of 466 snaps in that position during the past season.

Additionally, there’s speculation that Elliott could serve as a substitute for Javon Kinlaw. With Kevin Givens and Sebastian Joseph-Day still pending free agents, the 49ers may continue to seek interior players to fortify their defensive line.

At present, the 49ers’ defensive tackle roster comprises Javon Hargrave, Elliott, Kalia Davis, and T.Y. McGill.
