One of the best quarterbacks in next month’s draft class is former LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels, who may be chosen by the Las Vegas Raiders. Daniels already enjoys a strong relationship with the Raiders. Antonio Pierce, the head coach of the Raiders and a former Sun Devil recruiting coordinator, recruited the 2023 Heisman Trophy winner, who spent three seasons at Arizona State before transferring to LSU. Pierce stated, “I mean, I thought he’d win the Heisman — that was my recruiting pitch,” on February 28 at the NFL Combine. “Man, I was so proud of him when I was recruiting Jayden; he was 150 pounds.” ‘Where you getting this little skinny dude from San Bernardino?’ everyone [was] asking.
But what I seen was victorious. I once saw a very competitive guy who was always trying to prove people wrong and had been doubted his entire life due to his stature or certain physical or mental characteristics. And in my opinion, all he’s accomplished is disprove people.”It was enjoyable to witness him excel at the SEC, the pinnacle of collegiate football. It was very striking.
Pierce has known one of the players on his roster for a considerable amount of time already. Pierce remarked, “It kind of reminds me of Jack Jones.” Since Jayden was 14 years old, I have known him, and since Jack was 13 years old, I have known him. “I just happen to be head coach of the Raiders, and that could be a possibility [drafting Daniels], but we’ll have to see.” “I just watched them grow up to be young men, then obviously, their No. 1 goal is to be in the NFL.” The NFL Draft is scheduled for April 25–27, 2024, in Detroit, Michigan. With the 13th overall pick right now, it belongs to the Las Vegas Raiders.
