Carlton has finalized its lineup of 23 players for the highly anticipated 2024 Good Friday SuperClash.
The defensive lineup receives a significant boost with the return of Jacob Weitering, the reigning John Nicholls Medallist, who will make his season debut against North Melbourne tomorrow afternoon. Weitering’s availability was confirmed earlier in the week after recovering from a preseason calf injury. Joining him in the backline is Caleb Marchbank, who has showcased impressive form in training following a bout of illness.
The third addition to the squad is Elijah Hollands, who is set to make his debut in the Navy Blue jersey. The announcement of his inclusion came during Wednesday’s training session, thanks to his younger brother Ollie.
These three players replace Brodie Kemp, Lewis Young, and David Cuningham in the selected lineup. Unfortunately, Cuningham (calf) and Jesse Motlop (hamstring) have been ruled out of selection following the main training session on Wednesday. Additionally, Kemp and Young have been omitted from the squad.
The Blues’ substitute player will be chosen from the five-man bench, comprising Jordan Boyd, Jack Carroll, Matthew Cottrell, Round 1 sub Corey Durdin, and Orazio Fantasia.
