One of the standout former Maryland Terrapins in the NFL has secured a new destination ahead of the 2024 season.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Buffalo Bills have traded Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans. In exchange for Diggs, the Bills have sent him along with a sixth-round pick in this year’s draft and a 2025 fifth-round pick to Houston, acquiring a 2025 second-round pick in return.

During the previous season, Diggs showcased his prowess by tallying 107 receptions for 1,183 yards and eight touchdowns across 17 games, earning him his fourth Pro Bowl selection. Known for his dynamic partnership with Bills quarterback Josh Allen, Diggs will now team up with Texans quarterback CJ Stroud, the reigning NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year.

Entering his 10th NFL season, Diggs has built an impressive career since his time at Maryland, where he became the university’s highest-ranked recruit. Throughout his three-year tenure with the Terps, he accumulated 150 catches for 2,227 yards and 14 touchdowns.

Selected by the Minnesota Vikings in the fifth round of the 2015 NFL Draft, Diggs spent five seasons with the team before being traded to the Bills in March 2020. He immediately made an impact in Buffalo, securing 127 receptions for 1,535 yards and eight touchdowns in his debut season, earning First-team All-Pro honors. Subsequently, Diggs continued to excel, earning Pro Bowl nods in each of his four seasons with the Bills, along with AFC East titles.

In Houston, Diggs joins a promising receiving corps featuring talents like 25-year-old Nico Collins and second-year wideout Tank Dell. Additionally, the Texans have added former Cincinnati Bengals standout running back Joe Mixon to their roster. Notably, the Texans will face off against the Bills in an anticipated matchup during the upcoming season.
