The Penrith Panthers have extended the contract of a forward to enhance their squad depth, following his arrival at the club during the 2022 season. Preston Riki has secured a contract extension for the 2025 season after being promoted from a development contract to a spot in the Top 30 roster earlier this year.

Having joined from the New Zealand Warriors a couple of seasons ago, Riki has become a consistent presence and a vital component of the Panthers NSW Cup squad. He has also represented the Maori All Stars in the annual All Stars game.

Riki’s promotion comes as he aims to make his NRL debut, despite facing numerous injury setbacks throughout his career.

Matt Cameron, Panthers Rugby League CEO, expressed his congratulations to Riki on his elevation to the NRL squad and his contract extension. He commended Riki’s resilience, hard work, and dedication to the Panthers despite facing injury challenges.

The Panthers organization is pleased to retain Riki in their ranks and is eager to witness his continued career development.
