The St. Louis Cardinals might benefit from adding more power to the heart of their batting order. Despite their 6-7 record so far this season, there’s still optimism. With a talented roster, they’ve demonstrated moments of potential. Both the starting rotation and bullpen have been solid, keeping them competitive and in contention.

The Cardinals’ offense hasn’t lived up to the high expectations at the beginning of the season, but there’s optimism for improvement. St. Louis possesses top-tier offensive players who haven’t met their potential yet but are likely to bounce back soon.
Given the current situation, bolstering the roster with additional depth seems like a prudent move. Brandon Belt, formerly of the San Francisco Giants and Toronto Blue Jays, fits this bill. Despite his impressive track record, he’s surprisingly available and eager for his next opportunity. Last season, he showcased his prowess with 19 home runs and 43 RBIs in just 103 games for Toronto. Bringing in a seasoned veteran like Belt could provide a valuable offensive boost while offering versatility at first base or designated hitter. Additionally, his experience and leadership could benefit the younger players on the team.

Indeed, giving a chance to a seasoned player like Brandon Belt seems like a low-risk, high-reward opportunity. With his track record and potential to provide an offensive boost, there’s little downside in adding him to the roster. Injecting some extra firepower into the offense could pay dividends for the team in the near future.
