On Friday night, the Philadelphia Phillies‘ offense seemed to return to its familiar form, largely thanks to Alec Bohm’s standout performance.
Many have been eagerly anticipating when the Philadelphia Phillies’ offense would kick into gear in 2024.
It was unusual to observe them occupying mid-tier positions in various statistical measures, especially considering their previous dominance in home runs over the past couple of years.

The Philadelphia Phillies have relied heavily on their pitching staff to secure victories, often scraping together just enough runs to maintain a winning record.
However, on Friday night, the Phillies exhibited their potent offense.
All seven of their runs were generated from home runs, with Alec Bohm delivering two separate three-run shots that provided an early lead in the first inning and extended it further in the third.
Prior to this game, Bohm had only hit one homer throughout the season, making his sudden burst of power particularly noteworthy.
This performance marked just the third time he achieved such a feat last season.
Bohm’s ability to generate power has steadily improved since he became a full-time player in 2021.
In each subsequent season, he has increased his home run tally, hitting seven in 2021, 13 in 2022, and 20 in the previous season.
His slugging percentage has similarly progressed with each passing year.

Bohm, at 27 years old, consistently enhances his offensive repertoire, contributing to the lineup’s strength alongside other star players.
His standout performance holds significance for Philadelphia, particularly amid their current four-game winning streak, yet a sense of incompleteness persists.
Perhaps this game will ignite the offense, which has struggled thus far, as they face two more home games against the Chicago White Sox before embarking on a challenging 10-game road trip to close out the month.
