Auburn is actively pursuing defensive tackles for their 2025 recruiting class, targeting players with the size and skill to excel on the interior of the defensive line.

One potential addition to their recruiting efforts is Jeramiah McCleod, who recently decommitted from Mississippi State, according to a report by Chad Simmons on X. McCleod, standing at 6-foot-4 and weighing 285 pounds, hails from Havana (Fla.) Gadsden County.

He holds a 4-star ranking from Rivals and ESPN, while On3 and 247 rate him as a 3-star prospect. McCleod boasts an impressive list of offers, including schools like Florida, Georgia, LSU, and USC, among others.

Florida appears to be gaining momentum with McCleod, as he is scheduled to take an official visit to Gainesville on June 7. Whether Auburn secures an official visit from McCleod remains to be seen, marking the next phase of their recruitment efforts.

In other news, Kail Ellis, a 2026 commitment for Auburn, stood out at the Rivals Atlanta camp by winning the offensive lineman award. Hailing from Cass (Ga.) High School, Ellis is regarded as one of the top interior offensive line prospects nationally. Upon joining the Tigers, he is expected to assume the role of center for the team.
