REPORT:On April 21st, there were changes made to the roster of the St. Louis Cardinals.

The St. Louis Cardinals, entering Sunday with a 9-12 record and seeking to avoid a sweep by the Milwaukee Brewers, made four roster moves before their series finale.

Right-handed pitcher Nick Robertson was recalled from the Memphis Redbirds, where he has appeared in six games this season, recording no wins or losses. Over 6.1 innings, he has surrendered four hits and two earned runs, resulting in a 2.84 ERA and a 1.26 WHIP.

Catcher Pedro Pages also received a call-up from the Memphis Redbirds. In six games, he has amassed four hits in 18 at-bats, including two doubles and one home run, along with two RBIs, five walks, and five strikeouts. Pages has posted a .222 batting average, a .417 on-base percentage, and a .500 slugging percentage, translating to a .917 OPS.

Outfielder Victor Scott II was optioned to the Memphis Redbirds. Across 20 games with the Cardinals, he has accumulated three doubles and two RBIs while struggling at the plate with a .085/.138/.136 slash line and a .274 OPS.

Lastly, right-handed pitcher Andre Pallante was also optioned to the Memphis Redbirds. Pallante has appeared in nine games this season, recording one loss. Over ten innings pitched, he has allowed 14 hits, seven earned runs, and five walks, with six strikeouts, resulting in a 6.30 ERA.

The St. Louis Cardinals are facing a challenging start to the season and are in need of a turnaround to avoid a repeat of last year’s disappointing finish at the bottom of the Central division.

Victor Scott II, although talented, may benefit from additional development time in Triple-A. Meanwhile, Andre Pallante’s struggles in the bullpen indicate a need for improvement, particularly in reducing hard contact, during his time with the Memphis Redbirds.

Pedro Pages’ promising performance for the Redbirds suggests he could provide a boost to the Cardinals’ offense, which is currently in need of more base runners. It remains to be seen how these roster moves will impact the team’s performance moving forward.
