The New England Patriots are heading into the NFL draft seeking impactful offensive talent. However, they won’t be able to pursue wide receiver A.J. Brown, as he recently inked a substantial three-year contract extension with the Philadelphia Eagles.

The deal, reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter and confirmed by NFL Insider Ian Rapoport, is valued at $96 million, making Brown the highest-paid receiver in NFL history. With $84 million guaranteed, the extension covers Brown’s services through the 2029 season.

With this move, the Eagles have now secured their top two receivers for the long term, having previously signed DeVonta Smith to a three-year, $75 million extension in April.

Brown, who was drafted by the Tennessee Titans in 2019, spent his first three seasons with the team. During his tenure with the Titans, spanning 43 games, he amassed impressive stats, recording 185 receptions for 2,995 yards and 25 touchdowns. After the 2021 season, Brown was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles.
