The dynamo has been on fire in front of the goalposts. Jake Waterman’s remarkable resurgence has been the standout narrative of the season, not just for the West Coast Eagles but also across the league.

After battling serious illness last year following a game in Adelaide, his return to the field was uncertain. However, Waterman’s meticulous approach to recovery saw him bounce back with vigor, starting with winning the 2km time trial at the beginning of pre-season.

This marked the beginning of an exceptional summer for him. Carrying this momentum into the season, he has already scored 21 goals in the first seven games, including four against Gold Coast in the most recent match.

His tireless work ethic has been remarkable, and he has fully earned the accolades. Waterman’s performance included 15 possessions, seven marks, and a consistent presence as a target inside the attacking 50.
