The San Francisco Giants have hit a rough patch in their season, dropping two consecutive series, including a four-game sweep by the Philadelphia Phillies. Now, they face the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field, with Kyle Harrison slated to start on the mound.
The Giants’ offense has struggled to find its rhythm lately, and playing at the hitter-friendly Coors Field could either provide a boost or present a challenge for the young pitcher Harrison.
In recent starts, the 22-year-old has shown improvement, incorporating his slider and changeup alongside his effective four-seam fastball. Despite pitching in a homer-friendly environment, Harrison has managed to keep the ball in the park in his last three outings.
Leading the offensive charge for the Giants has been LaMonte Wade Jr., who has been their most consistent hitter this season. Despite Monday’s 6-1 loss to the Phillies, Wade recorded two hits, extending his streak of hits to three out of the last four games, including two multi-hit performances.
On the opposing mound, the Giants will face Dakota Hudson, who has yet to secure a win in six starts and carries a 5.93 ERA. Hudson doesn’t rack up many strikeouts and often deals with baserunners.
