The University of Louisville football team has secured another commitment from the transfer portal.

Stephen F. Austin defensive lineman Brandon Lane, who made an unofficial visit to U of L over the weekend, has committed to the Cardinals. Lane is the 28th player from the transfer portal to join the roster for fall camp, including seven at the defensive line or edge positions.

Lane, standing 6-foot-3 and weighing 300 pounds, had also considered offers from Wisconsin, Michigan, and NC State among others.

Lane was a highly sought-after player in the transfer portal, drawing interest from about 30 schools. He initially committed to Michigan State in late April but reopened his recruitment and later announced U of L as one of his final four choices.
