Fremantle forward Josh Treacy is optimistic that the team’s recent goalkicking struggles can be swiftly addressed, expressing his readiness to assist any teammate in need.

The Dockers have encountered significant accuracy issues this season, with their last two games highlighting the problem. They managed just 4 goals and 15 behinds in a 48-point loss to Sydney two weeks ago, followed by a shaky 9 goals and 18 behinds in a 17-point victory over St Kilda last week. Forward Patrick Voss has contributed 1 goal and 6 behinds over the past two games.

Key players like Jye Amiss and Nat Fyfe have also struggled to find their usual accuracy. Amiss, known by the nickname “Nev” for his usually reliable kicking, returned 2 goals and 5 behinds against St Kilda, while Fyfe has posted 2 goals and 4 behinds this season along with some unsuccessful attempts.

Despite the recent challenges, Treacy remains confident in his teammates’ ability to rediscover their scoring touch.

“We just need to fine-tune a few things behind the scenes,” Treacy told reporters on Monday. “There have been a couple of rough weeks, but I believe we’ll bounce back strongly in the coming weeks.”

Amiss, who had an impressive record of 41 goals and 17 behinds last year, has experienced a dip in form with 14 goals and 14 behinds this season. Treacy acknowledges Amiss’s temporary setback, emphasizing the team’s support for him and others who have struggled with accuracy.

“He’s human, and everyone has their off days,” Treacy commented. “We’ll rally around those who have had a few missed opportunities and focus on improvement moving forward.”

Fyfe, a two-time Brownlow medallist, has shown signs of lacking confidence in front of goal. Treacy is willing to lend a helping hand to Fyfe if needed, recognizing his teammate’s exceptional abilities while offering support.

“If Nat is open to some assistance, I’m here to offer it,” Treacy affirmed. “He’s a seasoned player and knows how to work through challenges, but I’m available if he requires any support.”

“The kicking routine I’ve developed has been effective for me this year, and I’m grateful for that,” Treacy explained. “It’s something we can explore as a team, sharing tips and helping each other improve.”

Fremantle (6-4) will face Collingwood at Optus Stadium on Friday night.

The upcoming match will be significant for Magpies forward Lachie Schultz, who will be facing his former team for the first time since departing Fremantle at the end of last year.

“It’ll be nice to catch up with him,” Treacy commented. “Many of us are still close to him, myself included. However, I don’t think we’ll treat it any differently than any other game.”
