The Michigan football program is set for a significant month of recruiting starting on Friday, with five recruits scheduled for official visits this weekend.

This initial weekend is packed with talent for the Wolverines, including elite prospects from Las Vegas’ powerhouse Bishop Gorman. Among the visitors will be five-star wide receiver Derek Meadows, ranked No. 32 overall by 247 Sports. Meadows recently listed Michigan in his top five choices.

Notre Dame currently leads in the crystal ball predictions. However, LSU, Georgia, Alabama, and Notre Dame will also host him for visits in June. Michigan football has some catching up to do, but a successful official visit in Ann Arbor could be a good start.

Douglas Utu, another Bishop Gorman prospect, is also expected on campus. The 6-foot-5, 300-pound offensive lineman is ranked 67th overall in the 2025 class. While Michigan football is in his top six and is the leader according to the On3 prediction machine, there haven’t been any crystal ball or expert projections yet.

Kainoa Winston, a top-100 recruit, will visit this weekend. Michigan football made his top four this week along with Penn State, North Carolina, and Oregon. Despite the On3 prediction machine favoring Penn State slightly, the Wolverines are in a strong position.

Marco Jones, a four-star EDGE from Danville, California, is ranked No. 156 overall. While Texas and Texas A&M are strong contenders, Michigan football feels it could take the lead this weekend. Additionally, DJ Sanders, a 6-foot-4, 290-pound defensive tackle from Texas, will also be visiting this weekend. He will visit Texas and A&M as well.

It won’t be easy to pull recruits out of the Lone Star State. However, each of these five recruitments still seems relatively wide open. Michigan will have the opportunity to make a strong first impression, and it’s crucial for the Wolverines to take full advantage of it.
