Brady Hart certainly sounds like an ideal name for a Michigan football quarterback. The 2026 prospect is set to visit Ann Arbor later this month.

There was even an expert projection favoring the Wolverines after Notre Dame secured another 2026 quarterback, despite the Irish initially being the favorites for Hart. However, it now appears Clemson has taken the lead following a visit, a crystal ball prediction, and an expert projection from On3.

Mike Singer, who covers Notre Dame for On3.com and initially picked Michigan with low confidence, has changed his prediction to Clemson with 60 percent confidence. Tom Loy of 247 Sports has also projected Hart to commit to the Tigers. Hart, a 6-foot-4, 180-pound pocket passer, is ranked 92nd overall in the 2026 class and the seventh-best quarterback according to the 247 Sports composite rankings.

Class Of 2026 Quarterback Brady Hart Plans Spring Visit To LSU

2026 QB trending away from Michigan football
Although it may seem early to discuss 2026 recruits, the timeframe for quarterbacks is accelerated. Michigan football doesn’t want to find itself still searching for a 2026 quarterback by June 2025. This was the situation back in the 2022 class, and the 2023 focus on Dante Moore didn’t pan out. Consequently, Michigan is hosting 2026 quarterbacks for visits this summer, similar to when it established itself as a favorite for Davis after the sophomore season.

There was hope Michigan football would do the same with Hart. The Wolverines will still have their chance as Hart is set for a multi-day visit, along with another four-star quarterback, Troy Huhn (ranked 109th overall and 10th QB), visiting on June 17th.

By the end of June, we should have a clearer idea of where Michigan stands with its top targets. However, given that Michigan has secured top-15 QBs in the 2024 and 2025 classes, there isn’t significant concern. Kirk Campbell is expected to deliver once again.
