Kentucky’s new head basketball coach, Mark Pope, has initiated his recruiting efforts for the 2025 class by extending offers to elite prospects. During his introductory press conference, Pope emphasized the importance of recruiting top talent alongside utilizing the transfer portal effectively.
Recently, Kentucky made an offer to five-star power forward Chris Cenac while he was participating in the NBPA Top 100 Camp. Cenac impressed at the camp, ultimately earning MVP honors among the top players in the 2025 recruiting class.
Upon reviewing Cenac’s game footage, his versatility stood out prominently. Despite his size at 6’10” and 210 pounds, Cenac exhibited strong ball-handling skills, secured rebounds decisively with powerful hands, and showcased his athleticism with a notable put-back dunk during a scrimmage. Additionally, his left-handed shooting stroke and polished jump shot were noteworthy attributes.
Although Cenac currently holds a five-star rating on On3, his recent performances suggest he may soon achieve consensus five-star status as other rankings are updated.

While Kentucky is relatively new to Cenac’s recruitment, his skill set aligns well with Coach Pope’s system. It wouldn’t be surprising to see Kentucky intensify its pursuit of this talented prospect under Pope’s leadership.
For fans of Big Blue Nation, Chris Cenac is certainly a player worth keeping an eye on as Kentucky ramps up its efforts in recruiting the 2025 class.
