The Montreal Alouettes have signed former Calgary Stampeders strong-side linebacker Titus Wall. The six-foot, 200-pound defender played 21 games over two seasons with the Stampeders, tallying 94 defensive tackles, 10 special teams tackles, eight tackles for loss, four sacks, three forced fumbles, three interceptions, one fumble recovery, and three pass knockdowns. He was released after this year’s training camp.
Wall, originally from Lima, Ohio, started 11 games at strong-side linebacker in 2023 before a season-ending shoulder injury in the Labour Day Classic. In that season, he recorded 55 defensive tackles, seven special teams tackles, five tackles for loss, two sacks, one forced fumble, and two pass knockdowns.
The Alouettes needed to bolster their linebacker corps after losing starter Reggie Stubblefield for the year in their Week 1 victory over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers due to a torn ACL.
Montreal also signed American linebacker K.D. Davis, who participated in the Saskatchewan Roughriders’ training camp earlier this year. Davis, from Ennis, Texas, was named the Conference USA Defensive Player of the Year at the University of North Texas in 2022, recording 139 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, a sack, an interception, and a forced fumble.
In 61 career games with the Mean Green, the six-foot, 230-pound Davis amassed 428 tackles—fifth most in school history—along with 32 tackles for loss, 13 sacks, one interception, four pass deflections, one forced fumble, and four fumble recoveries.
The Montreal Alouettes (2-0) will host the Ottawa Redblacks (1-0) on Thursday, June 20, with kickoff at 7:30 p.m. EDT.
