The Penrith Panthers have awarded an NRL contract to one of their most promising reserve-grade players.

David Fale, who has made a significant impact with 11 appearances in the NSW Cup this season, has signed a multi-year deal with the Panthers, marking his debut NRL contract.

Having debuted in reserve grade last year, Fale has showcased his skills with three tries, 20 tackle busts, three line-breaks, and an average of 67 running metres per game this season.

Fale’s NRL signing positions him in competition with players like Paul Alamoti, Jesse McLean, Daine Laurie, Casey McLean, Asu Kepaoa, and Isaiah Iongi for two available backline spots next season. Notably, Sunia Turuva is departing for the Wests Tigers, and Taylan May is expected to have his contract terminated in the near future.

Penrith currently has six players approaching the end of their contracts this season, though recent reports suggest new deals are close for Paul Alamoti and Daine Laurie. Matthew Eisenhuth, Tyrone Peachey, and Luke Sommerton are among those yet to secure contracts for the 2025 NRL season.
