The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have signed American tight end Camren McDonald and American defensive back Kordell Rodgers.
McDonald attended the Tiger-Cats’ training camp earlier this year but was released before the regular season began. The six-foot-four, 245-pound native of Long Beach, Calif., previously spent time with the Los Angeles Rams and Green Bay Packers but did not play in any regular-season games for either team.
Rodgers played 12 games with the Montreal Alouettes in 2023 but was cut during training camp last month. Last year, he made nine starts at boundary cornerback and two at field-side cornerback, recording 37 tackles and two interceptions.
The five-foot-eleven, 175-pound native of Lufkin, Texas, played collegiately at Texas State University, where he tallied 158 total tackles, four tackles for loss, seven interceptions, 17 pass knockdowns, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and one sack over 48 games with the Bobcats.
The Tiger-Cats have also released American receiver Kaylon Geiger and American defensive back Mark Milton, neither of whom played in Hamilton’s first two regular-season games.
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats (0-2) will visit the Saskatchewan Roughriders (2-0) on Sunday, June 23, with kickoff scheduled for 7:00 p.m. EDT.
