In today’s Auburn Tigers news, the football team adds a late transfer and a running back commit is actively recruiting others to join him on the Plains.

Over the weekend, Auburn football welcomed defensive back transfer Jahquez Robinson. Hailing from Jacksonville, Florida, Robinson began his collegiate journey at Alabama, playing three seasons before transferring to Colorado last season.

Robinson, a 4-star prospect out of high school, was ranked as the #21 cornerback in the 2020 recruiting class. He was initially recruited to Alabama by then-associate defensive coordinator Charles Kelly, whom he followed to Colorado. Now, Robinson will reunite with Kelly at Auburn.

In his 2023 season with Colorado, Robinson tallied eight tackles and an interception. With two years of eligibility remaining, he joins the Tigers primarily to strengthen their depth after significant losses in the secondary.

Auburn also secured a commitment from 4-star running back Alvin Henderson over the weekend. A long-time target for Auburn football, Henderson had committed to Penn State in April but noted that head coach Hugh Freeze and the Tigers persisted in their recruitment efforts.

Henderson appreciated Auburn’s unwavering interest and is now focused on recruiting more top talent to join him, as reported by Auburn Undercover. His targets include defensive backs Blake Woodby and Anquon Fegans, as well as Elijah Menendez, a 4-star linebacker currently committed to Miami.

“I was Miami’s No. 1 recruit for a while and bonded with him when considering them,” Henderson said about his recruiting targets. “We in-state guys are going to take care of Auburn ourselves. Our main goal is to bring in players who are committed elsewhere or considering other schools.”

Auburn’s recruiting class of 2025 now consists of 16 commits and is ranked #5 overall by 247 Sports.
