The Boston Celtics, reigning champions, have secured roster stability by agreeing to a multiyear contract with Neemias Queta, as reported by Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Boston made Queta a restricted free agent by extending a qualifying offer of around $2.37 million on Saturday, following the decision to decline his team option.

Queta achieved career highs of 5.5 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 0.8 blocks per game in 28 appearances for the Celtics, earning a promotion from a two-way contract to the 15-man roster.

Although he saw limited action during the championship run, playing in just three games, Queta’s signing adds depth alongside another backup big man, Luke Kornet, who agreed to a one-year deal. This depth becomes crucial with starter Kristaps Porzingis sidelined for five to six months due to left leg surgery.
