The Los Angeles Dodgers are reportedly seeking to bolster their outfield ahead of this year’s trade deadline. With James Outman struggling in the majors and being sent back to Triple-A, the Dodgers are in need of additional outfield support.
Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. is one of the top players expected to be available on the market. MLB insider Jon Heyman believes the Dodgers are one of the two teams “most likely” to acquire Robert by the deadline, with the Seattle Mariners being the other contender. Heyman noted that he thinks the Mariners are the favorites to land Robert but acknowledged the Dodgers as strong contenders as well, according to B/R Walk Off.

Robert made his MLB debut in 2020 and has spent the last four years with the White Sox. This season, he has appeared in just 32 games, slashing .215/.286/.512 with a .798 OPS, 10 home runs, and 18 RBIs. In his first All-Star appearance last year, he slashed .264/.315/.542 with 38 home runs and 80 RBIs.
In addition to his offensive achievements, Robert is a Gold Glove and Silver Slugger winner. However, he needs to find a way to stay healthy.
