The New York Yankees secured a 4-1 victory over the Baltimore Orioles on Friday night at Camden Yards. This crucial win brings the Yankees to a 57-39 record, just 1.0 game behind the Orioles in the American League East.
Yankees slugger Aaron Judge posted one of the most unusual stat lines in team history during the game, going 1-for-1 with a home run, four walks, an RBI, and a run scored. This marks the first time since 1996 that a Yankees player has achieved such a stat line. According to @NyYankeesStats:
Aaron Judge: First Yankee with a HR and 4 BB in a game since Paul O'Neill on 4/30/1996 at BAL

“Aaron Judge: First Yankee with a HR and 4 BB in a game since Paul O’Neill on 4/30/1996 at BAL.”
Judge is having an MVP-caliber season for the Yankees, a title he previously won in 2022. He currently leads the major leagues with 33 home runs and 84 RBIs.
Moreover, Judge’s 33rd homer puts him in an elite group, as only the third player in Yankees history to have 33 home runs before the All-Star break. Bryan Hoch of MLB.com noted:
“@Yankees Aaron Judge hits his 33rd home run of the season. He’s one of only two Yankees players to hit 33 homers before the All-Star break (also done by Roger Maris in 1961 and Judge in 2022).”

Set to start in next week’s All-Star Game, Judge is hitting .306 this year and has a lifetime batting average of .284 with 290 home runs. If he remains healthy in the second half of the season, he should reach the 300 home run milestone early in the second half.
