Following another disheartening loss to kick off the second half of the season, the Braves have announced several roster changes.

While most of these moves are minor, especially with the trade deadline approaching, the key update is Michael Harris II being transferred to the 60-day IL. The delay in his return was unexpected, as there had been hope he might soon begin a rehab assignment.

Harris, who was placed on the 15-day IL on June 15, has now been sidelined for 39 days. It will be at least three more weeks before he can be activated, and potentially longer. This news is a blow to Braves fans who have already seen their team lose four of five games to start the second half, along with additional injuries to Max Fried and Ozzie Albies.

The mounting injuries are severely impacting the Braves, making the team look quite different from the one that started the season. Fans are growing increasingly disheartened, and players may also be questioning their performance.

The urgency for the trade deadline is palpable, as significant changes are needed if the Braves hope to contend in October. Without substantial moves, October might remain out of reach for this struggling team.
