Michigan recently experienced the de-commitment of wide receiver Phillip Wright, but the Wolverines quickly made up for the loss. On Saturday, Michigan secured its 16th commitment in the 2025 cycle with four-star cornerback Jayden Sanders joining the program. Sanders, who chose Michigan over Baylor and Oklahoma State, hails from Kilgore, Texas, and stands 6-foot-2 and weighs 172 pounds. According to 247Sports’ Composite rankings, Sanders is the 318th overall player in the 2025 class and the 30th-ranked cornerback.

In addition to his three finalists, Sanders received offers from schools such as Kansas, Kansas State, Michigan State, TCU, and Texas Tech. His father, Nick Sanders, was a standout defensive back at TCU from 2005-09 and earned first-team All-Mountain West honors.

With Sanders on board, Michigan now has three defensive backs committed in the 2025 recruiting class. Sanders is the 10th-highest-ranked recruit for the Wolverines in this cycle, and his commitment should help elevate Michigan’s 15th-ranked recruiting class.

247Sports’ Gabe Brooks provided a detailed analysis of Sanders’ abilities, highlighting his instincts, athleticism, and potential to make a significant impact at the college level with NFL Draft upside.
