Chris Garrett boosted his stock by playing in the UFL, where he had limited options for improvement after a brief stint with the Rams. Selected 252nd overall in the 2021 NFL Draft, Garrett was seen as a developmental prospect following a dominant college career at Concordia-St. Paul. However, his time with the L.A. Rams was short-lived and largely uneventful. Now, Garrett gets another chance in the NFL after signing with the Arizona Cardinals on Tuesday.
Garrett played just 10 snaps with the Rams in 2021—four on defense and six on special teams—and hasn’t appeared in a regular-season NFL game since. He spent time on the practice squads for both the Vikings and Seahawks, but his most significant impact came in the UFL, where he was named the 2024 UFL Special Teams Player of the Year.
At 26 years old, Garrett has also played in the XFL and remains determined to pursue his NFL dreams, even if it means starting on Arizona’s practice squad. His recent achievements could be the breakthrough he needs, as every team values reliable special teamers. While things didn’t pan out in L.A., perhaps Arizona will offer a better opportunity.
