The Tennessee Titans pulled off one of the biggest trades of this NFL offseason by acquiring L’Jarius Sneed from the Kansas City Chiefs. The two-time Super Bowl champion is now aiming to add another accolade to his resume: his first Pro Bowl selection.

Sneed has quietly been one of the most underrated cornerbacks since entering the league, racking up 10 interceptions, 6.5 sacks, and 4 forced fumbles over his first four seasons. Last year, Pro Football Focus graded him as the 13th-best cornerback, with his 2022 performance earning an even higher grade, five points better than the previous year.

Kevin Patra of NFL.com has identified Sneed as the most likely Titan to make their first Pro Bowl in 2024.

“It’s baffling that Sneed hasn’t received any postseason recognition—no Pro Bowl, no All-Pro honors,” Patra wrote. “Maybe voters are put off by the penalties he racks up as a physical corner? (Shrug emoji.) All I know is that Sneed is a tough competitor who makes receivers work for every yard. His -29.7 target EPA ranked third among NFL corners last season (min. 300 snaps), and his -.33 EPA/target was fourth, per NGS. Now in Tennessee after a March trade, Sneed will lead a revamped defense under new coordinator Dennard Wilson. If he can help turn around a unit that struggled under the previous regime, Sneed should finally get the recognition he deserves.”

One challenge Sneed will face this year is the absence of All-Pro cornerback Trent McDuffie on the opposite side. Moving from a top-ranked defense to the NFL’s 15th-ranked unit, Sneed will have more responsibility but also a prime opportunity to prove he’s worth the four-year, $76 million extension he signed this summer.
