Could the Philadelphia Eagles be gearing up for another move soon?
There are still several free agents available who could make an impact without stretching the budget. Philadelphia currently has just under $12 million in cap space with the season about to begin. The Eagles will kick off their campaign on Friday against the Green Bay Packers in Brazil.
While Philadelphia has the resources to bolster its depth, any new additions likely won’t come before their Week 1 matchup. The team boarded a flight to Brazil on Wednesday, but they could still make moves afterward
One name that should be on the Eagles’ radar is former fan-favorite defensive back Jalen Mills. The 30-year-old became available after being released by the New York Giants in August. Mills had signed with the Giants in March but is now back on the market.
Drafted by the Eagles in the seventh round of the 2016 NFL Draft, Mills spent his first five seasons in Philadelphia and was an integral part of their Super Bowl LII win over the New England Patriots. He later joined the Patriots in 2021, spending three seasons in New England.
With Mills looking for a new opportunity and the Eagles currently thin at safety—especially with James Bradberry expected to miss at least two months—a reunion could be worth considering in the near future.
