The 2024 NFL season is in full swing, with Week 2 now behind us and Week 3 underway. The Philadelphia Eagles, currently at 1-1, have shown potential but are grappling with some significant injuries. Despite their promise, the team has notable weaknesses that need addressing.

According to Bleacher Report’s scouting department, the Eagles have identified several “biggest weaknesses” and proposed solutions through free agency, the next offseason, and the NFL Draft. One recommendation for next offseason is to target Lorenzo Carter, an edge rusher from the Atlanta Falcons.

Bleacher Report noted, “2025 Free Agency: EDGE Lorenzo Carter, Atlanta Falcons.” With Brandon Graham, who will turn 37 in April, set to retire after this season, the Eagles will need to find a replacement for his role as an edge rusher off the bench. Carter, who has accumulated 23.5 sacks and 33 quarterback hits, could be a strong candidate. Additionally, his potential contract would likely be manageable, which is beneficial for a team projected to have around $7.2 million in cap space, according to Over The Cap.

Carter has recorded five tackles so far this season and is expected to be a sought-after free agent next year. While Philadelphia could benefit from strengthening their edge position, it’s still early in the season to make definitive predictions.
