Ahead of their Week 3 game against the Miami Dolphins, the Seattle Seahawks worked out two receivers, Denzel Mims and Miles Boykin, as well as former Notre Dame quarterback Ian Book, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.

Mims, who was drafted by the New York Jets in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft as the 59th overall pick, has not lived up to expectations. His most productive season was in 2020, when he recorded 23 receptions for 357 yards but has yet to score a receiving touchdown in the NFL. After being traded to the Detroit Lions in 2023, Mims was released due to injury and has since had brief stints with the Pittsburgh Steelers and Jacksonville Jaguars. Mims is known for his impressive size and speed, standing 6-foot-3 and running a 4.38-second 40-yard dash at the combine. NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein compared him to Tre’Quan Smith, noting his potential as a deep threat but also his struggles with press coverage and consistency.

Boykin, who had a strong college career at Baylor with 66 catches for 1,020 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2019, was selected by the Baltimore Ravens in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft. He recorded 19 receptions for 266 yards and 4 touchdowns in the 2020 season. Like Mims, Boykin has impressive physical attributes at 6-foot-4 and 220 pounds and has spent the last two seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

With the Seahawks’ receiver room already crowded with DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba, it will be interesting to see if they decide to sign either Mims or Boykin.
