A crucial aspect of a college football commitment is staying true to one’s word, something coaches across the country emphasize heavily. This principle is also a cornerstone of Coach Josh Heupel’s philosophy at Tennessee. Heupel and his staff excel in identifying and recruiting talent that they want to bring to Rocky Top, often succeeding in securing commitments from top targets. While they occasionally miss out on a few recruits, their success rate is impressive.

One of their notable successes in the 2025 recruiting class is Antoni Kade Ogumoro. Ogumoro, a 315-pound interior offensive lineman from Elgin High School in Oklahoma, committed to the University of Tennessee on May 21, 2024, and hasn’t wavered in his decision since. Despite offers from other top programs such as Oklahoma, Missouri, North Carolina, Kansas State, and Oklahoma State, Ogumoro chose the Volunteers and remains steadfast in his commitment.

In a recent interview with *Tennessee on SI*, Ogumoro provided an update on his recruitment and his experience since committing to Tennessee. “My season has been going smoothly. Off to a 3-0 start. We have a solid team with a solid coaching staff. Everyone is continuing to do their part and play their role,” he shared. This demonstrates the focus and discipline that Ogumoro carries with him both on and off the field.

Despite the attention from other schools trying to persuade him to reconsider his commitment, Ogumoro remains loyal to the Vols. “I’m still fully committed to Tennessee. I keep in contact with the coaches and players. Since my commitment, nothing has really changed. Relationships just keep getting stronger and stronger. Honestly, I just can’t wait to get on campus and go to work,” Ogumoro said, making it clear that his decision is rooted not just in his connection with the coaching staff, but in the sense of belonging that Tennessee has offered him and his family.

Even though other schools have continued to express interest, Ogumoro is resolute in his choice. “Some schools have still tried to get me to flip my decision. I’m grateful for their interest in me, but at the end of the day, Rocky Top is home to not just me but my family as well,” he emphasized. This shows his deep attachment to the Tennessee football program and community.

Looking ahead, Ogumoro has confirmed that he doesn’t plan on visiting any other programs and has his sights set on Knoxville. “We will be out there for the game against Alabama!” he confirmed, expressing his excitement about upcoming visits and solidifying his commitment further.

Ogumoro is also actively involved in helping the Vols build an even stronger 2025 recruiting class. He mentioned his interest in adding more top talent to the roster, specifically targeting Isaiah Campbell, a player who recently decommitted from Clemson. “It would be nice to get my guy Isaiah Campbell who recently decommitted from Clemson. He’s got a visit to us and UNC,” Ogumoro revealed.

As Ogumoro prepares for his future at Tennessee, his dedication to the program and his recruiting efforts are helping shape a strong foundation for the Vols’ future. His commitment to the team, paired with his desire to bring in other top recruits, highlights his leadership and determination as he looks forward to joining the Tennessee Volunteers.
