Joe Burrow is feeling increasingly positive about the Cincinnati Bengals’ performance following their 21-14 victory over the Cleveland Browns in Week 7. The win marked their second straight and third in their last four games, signaling a positive turnaround after a troubling 0-3 start to the season. Despite the offense struggling at times over the last couple of games, the Bengals’ defense has been impressive, allowing just 21 points over the past two matchups. This defensive improvement is a reassuring sign, particularly after their lackluster performance earlier in the season.

When Burrow was asked about his outlook on the team after Week 7, his response conveyed optimism. He highlighted how crucial the defense’s recent performances have been in contributing to their success. Burrow mentioned how the defense, now healthier, has excelled at creating turnovers and pressuring the quarterback, which are vital elements of their strategy. This statement reflects Burrow’s recognition that while there’s room for growth, the team is on the right track, especially after previously admitting they were not at a “championship level” following their Week 5 loss to the Baltimore Ravens.

Cincinnati’s upcoming schedule adds more reasons for Bengals fans to feel hopeful. Prior to Week 7, they had the third-easiest remaining schedule in the league, just behind the New Orleans Saints and New York Jets. With 10 games left in the regular season, including four divisional games against the Cleveland Browns, Baltimore Ravens, and two against the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Bengals still have ample opportunities to improve their record and secure a playoff spot. Additionally, the Bengals are slated to face challenging non-divisional opponents like the Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys, Los Angeles Chargers, Denver Broncos, and Tennessee Titans.

While the Bengals have managed to stay relevant in the AFC playoff race with consecutive wins, they must continue to build on this momentum. Their next test comes against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 8, a team that has also strung together two consecutive wins after a rocky start. This matchup is expected to be competitive and crucial for both teams.

Despite some concerns earlier in the season, Burrow’s recent statements reflect cautious optimism, as the Bengals continue to progress and regain confidence. With an improving defense, favorable matchups ahead, and the offense working to find consistency, the Bengals are positioned to make a strong push for the playoffs if they maintain their current trajectory.
