Toronto Raptors rookie Gradey Dick is nearing a return to action. The team has listed him as questionable for Tuesday night’s matchup against the Indiana Pacers.

Dick has missed the last four games after sustaining a calf injury against the Cleveland Cavaliers on November 24. He participated fully in practice on Monday, and head coach Darko Rajakovic indicated that Dick is expected back at some point this week. Once he returns, he is likely to reclaim his starting spot, replacing fellow rookie Ja’Kobe Walter. Initially, the Raptors had intended for Walter to get significant playing time with Raptors 905 in the G League, but Dick’s absence required the team to expedite Walter’s promotion to the main roster.

Other injuries continue to affect the Raptors. Bruce Brown (knee) and Kelly Olynyk (back) remain sidelined, though both were seen shooting during Monday’s practice. The team had hoped Brown would return during their current four-game road trip, but he still isn’t ready, and there’s no clear timetable for either player’s return. Additionally, lead guard Immanuel Quickley, who is recovering from a UCL sprain, was spotted participating in shooting drills but has yet to be cleared for contact. Quickley is projected to remain out until mid-December.

The Raptors are currently on a five-game homestand and are coming off a hard-fought 119-116 victory over the Miami Heat. Tuesday’s game against the Pacers will be their second meeting this season; the Raptors previously defeated Indiana 130-119 on November 18. Indiana has not yet released its injury report for this upcoming clash.

Meanwhile, RJ Barrett continues to shine in home games at Scotiabank Arena. The swingman has demonstrated a stark contrast in performance between road and home games. In 11 road outings, Barrett has averaged 19.4 points, 6.5 assists, and 6 rebounds. However, over seven home games, those numbers have jumped significantly to 30.4 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 5.8 assists, showcasing his dominance on Toronto’s home court.

As the Raptors navigate injuries and adjustments, Dick’s return is anticipated to provide a boost, especially as they face a competitive Pacers team led by Pascal Siakam. The team’s performance during this homestand will be pivotal in maintaining their momentum moving forward.
