The three-time French Open semifinalist batted down rumors that he is the clear favorite to win the competition because he thinks that every game should be taken seriously.
The German has been on fire this season, having assisted his nation in winning the 2024 United Cup. Zverev, who had advanced to the semifinals of the Australian Open before falling to Daniil Medvedev, bounced back from a brief illness to defeat his Japanese opponent at the Los Cabos Open.
The German stated he is not depending on being the favorite and is simply concerned with winning every game at a press conference following his first victory in Mexico. “I think there are very good players here,” Zverev remarked.
