The San Diego Padres have officially added left-handed pitcher Paul Fry to their roster on a minor league contract. Notably, his agreement does not encompass an invitation to participate in major league spring training. Fry brings with him five years of experience in the big leagues, having previously played for the Baltimore Orioles and the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Over his five-year career, Paul Fry has compiled a record of 7 wins and 16 losses, maintaining a 4.82 ERA, with 194 strikeouts, a 4.02 FIP, and a 1.43 WHIP across 188 games and 177.1 innings pitched. Notably, during the abbreviated 2020 season, he showcased his best performance with a 2.45 ERA and a 1-0 record in 22 appearances. Joining the Padres organization, Fry will contribute valuable relief depth. Although his most recent major league outing wasn’t ideal, there’s optimism for a turnaround during his tenure in San Diego.
