Penguins president Kevin Acklin revealed on Monday that the case involving the stolen Jaromir Jagr bobbleheads has been resolved. The team had reported on March 14 that a shipment of 18,500 Jagr bobbleheads, intended for distribution to fans at a game, was stolen after being transported from China to California. Last week, the team was informed that a specialized cargo recovery team successfully negotiated the return of the stolen bobbleheads to a secure warehouse in Ontario, California.
The truck carrying the recovered bobbleheads arrived in Pittsburgh on Monday, and the team anticipates their delivery to PPG Paints Arena within the next week.
Fans who attended the March 14 home game received a voucher that can now be exchanged for a bobblehead during Penguins home games on April 6-7 at the arena.
For those attending the April 6 game against Tampa Bay, which starts at 1 p.m., vouchers can be redeemed in the Dick’s Sporting Goods Wall of Champions Hallway from 11:30 a.m. until 30 minutes after the game ends.
On April 7, the Penguins will host a drive-thru pick-up event at PPG Paints Arena from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Jim Shorkey Auto Group Garage for fans to collect their bobbleheads.
