The Atlanta Falcons officially announced on Wednesday the signing of free agent defensive lineman James Smith-Williams. Aged 26, Smith-Williams previously played four seasons with Washington, where he was drafted in the seventh round of the 2020 NFL Draft from North Carolina State University. In the 2023 season, he recorded 22 tackles, one sack, two tackles for loss, and eight quarterback hits in 13 games, starting in seven of them. Throughout his career, Smith-Williams has accumulated 85 tackles, seven sacks, 14 tackles for loss, and 31 quarterback hits in a total of 55 games, with 27 starts.
