Starting off the Anzac Round in New Zealand against the Warriors, the Titans are drawing inspiration from the Anzac legacy as they prepare to take the field at a packed Go Media Stadium.

Returning to his birthplace, Isaac Liu acknowledges the significance of Anzac Day for the players, having participated in five April 25 matches during his tenure with the Roosters.

“It’s massive. Any Anzac game holds immense importance, especially considering the significance behind it and the sacrifices made by those who fought for us and their countries,” he expressed.

“It’s thrilling, but it also evokes a sense of solemnity on the day, so we’re eagerly anticipating it.

“For me, it’s about going out there and playing our style of footy to honor them on Anzac Day.

“I embrace the occasion and give my all.”

Facing off against New Zealand holds special meaning for dynamic forward Erin Clark, who debuted for the Warriors in 2017 before relocating to Australia and joining the Gold Coast.

“I value those memories and, of course, I hold my debut here at the Warriors close to my heart,” the proud Kiwi remarked.

“Returning here to play at Mount Smart is incredibly special, and doing so in a Titans jersey adds another layer of significance, so I’m excited about that.

“To represent both Kiwis and Aussies on Anzac Day, and to do it together through the sport we love, is truly special for me and for everyone else taking the field.

“It serves as a reminder of what’s truly important and gives you that extra motivation to give your all out there.”

In addition to recognizing the importance of playing on Anzac Round, the Titans’ players are also cognizant of the challenge awaiting them at the Warriors’ home turf, widely regarded as one of the toughest venues in the NRL.

“They’ve been performing exceptionally well,” acknowledged Liu, a seasoned veteran with 254 games under his belt.

“The atmosphere too, they always have incredible support… with it being a sell-out, the noise, the chants… it’s undeniably exciting.”

“Without a doubt [it’s one of the toughest challenges in the NRL]… but as a team, we’re hungry for that first win,” Clark affirmed.

“We’re moving in the right direction… and what better way to achieve it than here in New Zealand.”
