Two Michigan football recruiting targets are set to announce their commitments within the next month, according to posts on X.

Four-star running back Iverson Howard had initially set a commitment date but postponed it due to an “inconvenience.” At that time, it was unclear where Michigan football stood with Howard. He has an official visit scheduled for June, and his new decision date is now set for June 18th.

Howard, ranked No. 382 overall in the 2025 class by the 247 Sports composite rankings, will visit Michigan, Florida State, and Maryland. Michigan also has other running backs scheduled for visits, and the situation remains uncertain. Howard’s visit on June 7th should provide more clarity, though Maryland won’t host him until after his commitment date.

It’s challenging to predict the outcome, but if Michigan prioritizes Howard, the Wolverines could have a strong chance of landing him. However, anything can happen in recruiting, so this remains speculative.

In contrast, there is more clarity regarding Ja’Don Blair’s position on Michigan’s recruiting board. The 6-foot-4, 190-pound safety, ranked No. 160 overall in the 2025 class by the 247 Sports composite rankings, has also set his commitment date. He plans to take official visits to Michigan, South Carolina, Notre Dame, Penn State, and Florida State.

This is a recruitment that feels very winnable for the Wolverines. A lot will depend on the official visits. Blair is reportedly set to make his announcement on July 5th, giving the Wolverines a chance to make their pitch before the elite defensive back makes his decision.
