Leeds United are reportedly in discussions to sign Swiss midfielder Natan Girma, but they will face competition from Championship rivals Watford.
Girma, 22, joined Italian Serie B club Reggiana last summer and scored six goals and provided three assists in 29 appearances across all competitions. With Reggiana finishing mid-table last season, there are reports that Girma might leave the club this summer due to interest from several teams.
According to Italian outlet Il Resto Del Carlino, Reggiana is willing to accept an offer between £2.5m and £3.5m for Girma, who was signed from lower league side Sona Calcio for a nominal fee less than a year ago. Both Leeds and Watford are said to be in talks with Girma’s club and his representatives. Additionally, Serie A side Monza is reportedly interested in the midfielder as they aim to build on two solid mid-table finishes in Italy’s top flight. MLS club Inter Miami was also said to be considering a move for Girma last month according to sources.
