The Buffalo Bills have experienced significant roster changes this offseason but remain one of the top teams in the NFL.
Even with their talent, having more playmakers is always beneficial in today’s NFL. With several quality free agents still available, these three names should be top priorities for Buffalo:
S Quandre Diggs
The 31-year-old was surprisingly cut by the Seattle Seahawks. However, this could be advantageous for Buffalo, as the three-time Pro Bowler would bring veteran experience to their safety group. With the addition of Mike Edwards, Diggs could adopt a rotational role rather than being an every-down player.
CB Steven Nelson
Nelson is a solid starting cornerback who is still on the market. The Oregon State product spent the last two seasons with the Houston Texans, recording a career-high four interceptions in 2023. The Bills are thin at the position after losing Dane Jackson to the Carolina Panthers and releasing Tre’Davious White. Nelson would be an excellent No. 3 or even No. 2 cornerback for Buffalo. Despite being 31, he can still provide strong play.
S Justin Simmons
Adding Simmons to their defense could elevate the Bills to another level. They would have playmakers at all three levels, and at almost every position if they sign the three-time All-Pro. Like Diggs, Simmons would add veteran leadership to a relatively young safety group. Additionally, he brings star power. When healthy, Simmons remains one of the best safeties in the NFL and would help fill the void left by Jordan Poyer and Micah Hyde.
