Barcelona is in “advanced talks” to make Mamadou Fall’s loan deal from MLS side LAFC permanent. Fall joined Barcelona last summer and has been a regular player for Rafa Marquez’s team, although his season was cut short due to an injury requiring surgery. According to The Athletic, Barcelona aims to retain the defender, with a potential deal valued at around $4 million.

Fall, still only 21, was called up to train with Barcelona’s first team on several occasions last season and played in the friendly against Club America in Dallas at the end of 2023.
The Senegalese defender also regularly partnered with Mikayil Faye for Barcelona Atletic, although Faye is currently rumored to be leaving the club.
Fall’s future seems more secure as Barcelona plans to exercise the purchase option in his loan deal, potentially allowing Hansi Flick to evaluate him during pre-season.
