The Missouri Tigers are aiming to become a premier destination for wide receivers. Luther Burden III enters the 2024 season as one of the nation’s top receivers, but with expectations of being an early pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, this could be his final season with Missouri.
Tigers fans need not worry, though, as help appears to be on the horizon. Jayvan Boggs, a 4-star receiver from Cocoa, Florida, is reportedly leaning towards committing to Missouri on July 4, according to On3’s Keegan Pope.
Boggs initially committed to Ohio State but reopened his recruitment. He has officially visited only Missouri and the UCF Knights, though the Georgia Bulldogs and USC Trojans are also among his final choices.
On3 is optimistic about Missouri’s chances, giving Boggs an 86.3% likelihood of choosing the Tigers, which is promising news for Missouri fans.
The Tigers will need to replace Burden’s production in 2025 and beyond. As a first-team All-SEC selection in his sophomore year, Burden amassed 86 catches for 1,212 yards and nine touchdowns in 2023.
Boggs would be an ideal successor, but the Tigers also have another promising option in 2025 4-star wideout Courtney Crutchfield.
Head coach Eliah Drinkwitz is rapidly transforming the Tigers’ program. They achieved an impressive 11-2 record last season and boast the No. 18 recruiting class for 2025, generating the kind of momentum Missouri fans have been eagerly anticipating.
