Army has had 21 players selected in the MLB Draft. Current Cincinnati Reds outfielder Jacob Hurtubise was the last player chosen, picked by the Seattle Mariners in 2019 before signing a free agent deal with the Reds a year later. Hurtubise has played 29 games, batting .185.

Berg is the highest Army draft choice since left-handed pitcher Nick Hill was selected by the Mariners in the seventh round and No. 225 overall in 2007.

The Pirates previously selected Army catcher Chris Simmons and outfielder Cole White in 2008.

The MLB Draft began Sunday and concludes Tuesday.
