Ortiz Jr.’s contract includes a $225,000 signing bonus and a student scholarship, according to baseball reporter Hector Gomez. Ortiz Jr. is a left-handed first baseman who also has outfield experience, standing 5-foot-11 and weighing 225 pounds. This move marks the second of Ortiz’s sons to sign with an MLB team this offseason, following his older brother D’Angelo Ortiz, who was drafted by another AL team last month.
